A young farmer was shot and killed by the father of his live-in-partner following a scuffle Saturday afternoon in a remote village in Prosperidad town in Agusan del Sur, police reports said on Sunday.
Reports at the PNP central operations center in Camp Crame identified the victim as Alberto Guyay Miomo, 25 and the suspect was named as Jesus Hemodo, 44 farmer and both are from Prosperidad town.
The reports said the shooting incident occurred at around 12:30pm when the victim barged inside the suspect’s house and looking for his live-in-partner, Mary Jane Hemodo, at Purok 3, Brgy. Laperian, Prosperidad.
The suspect, armed with an improvised shotgun, blocked the victim, who then tried to disarm and grabbed the gun when it accidentally went-off and hitting Miomo on the stomach, the reports said.
The reports said victim was rushed to the D.O Plaza Memorial Hospital in Patin-ay, but was declared dead on arrival, while the suspect voluntarily surrendered along with his shot-gun to the authorities.
