A public utility motorcycle driver was shot dead early dawn of Sunday by two still unidentified gunmen in a remote village in Lianga town in Surigao del Sur, police reports said Tuesday.
Reports reaching at the PNP central operations center in Camp Crame identified the victim of gun attack as Edwin Ferrer, 49 and resident Barobo town in Surigao del Sur.
The reports said Ferrer was attacked at around 1am Sunday by two gunmen while driving his motorcycle along a road in Brgy. Anibongan in Lianga town.
The victim was hit on his head and abdomen killing him almost instantly while the suspects fled immediately after the shooting, the reports said.
The reports said that elements of the Lianga Municipal Police Station are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the motive, identity and possible arrests of the suspects.
