A member of a dreaded crime group is among the latest person to be arrested for violating the 120-day long election gun-ban being implemented by the police for the upcoming mid-term elections in May.
Reports at the PNP central operations center in Camp Crame said suspect Exequil Aniscal alias ‘Michael Manzano’ was nabbed by police operatives at Sitio Man-iso, Brgy. Mandangoa, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.
Seized from his possession were two caliber 45 pistols; a caliber 357 revolver; a blue/white XRM motorcycle; two plate numbers; a helmet and assorted documents including a SIM-pack.
Aniscal is now detained at the Balingasag Municipal Police Station for filing of appropriate charges in court.
The reports said that Aniscal is a member of the dreaded Alferez organized crime group, which is also described as a potential private armed group (PAGs) operating in Misamis Oriental.
The PNP reports also said that the number of person arrested for gun-ban violation, which took effect last January 13, have totaled to 1,069 with 970 of them are civilians; 14 government employees; 13 policemen; 6 military men and one fireman.
The reports also said that a total of 1,041 various types of firearms were also confiscated; 272 bladed weapons seized; 195 explosive devices; 46 grenades; 30 gun replicas and more than 5,000 rounds of ammunitions were seized.
