TWO motorcycle riding gunmen shot dead early Thursday a motorcycle rider in a remote village in Agusan del Sur, police reports said Friday.
Camp Crame reports identified the victim as Jose Tajonera Espinoza, 48 and resident of Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Rosario, Agusan del Sur.
The reports said the incident occured at around 5:45am Thursday along a road on Purok 1A, Poblacion, Rosario, Agusan del Sur.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim was driving his motorcycle when he was approached from behind by two gunmen, the reports said.
The reports said the two gunmen for no apparent reason shot the victim using a .45 caliber pistol hitting in different parts of his body and died almost instantly.
The suspects fled towards unknown direction while police recovered four empty shells and two fired bullets for .45 caliber pistol, reports said.
Police also recovered a .45 pistol with two magazines, a wallet with P1,520 cash, documents, a Rado wrist-watch and a mobile phone from the victim’s body, reports said.
The reports said that elements of the Rosario Municipal Police Station are investigating to determine the motive and identity of the two gunmen.
