NEARLY P13 million went up to smoke Friday afternoon after a fire gutted down dozens of houses in a sub-urban village in Bislig City, police reports said on Sunday.
Reports at Camp Crame said that a total of 42 were destroyed Friday by the fire that hit Purok-1, Jumper’s Village, John Bosco District, Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
Initial investigation revealed that the fire started at around 2:45 p.m. at the house of a certain Teresita Angcoy and rapidly spread to to houses, mostly made of light materials, reports said.
The reports said that no casualties were reported on the incident, but 70 affected families were evacuated to Mangagoy Central Elementary School for temporary shelting.
Personnel of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) are still conducting investigation to determine the cause of fire, while damage cost was place at P12,875,000, reports said.
