A jail officer was shot dead by motorcycle riding gunman Saturday evening in a sub-urban village in Butuan City, police reports said Sunday.
Camp Crame reports identified the slain jail officer as SJO1 Jonathan Biyoyo, detailed at the BJMP in Butuan City and resident of Sison, Surigao del Sur.
The reports said the shooting incident occured at around 6:55pm along Jail Road, Purok-3A, Brgy Libertad, Butuan City.
Investigation revealed that Biyoyo on board a pedicab when he was attacked and shot several times by the gunman riding a red Honda XRM single motorcycle with no plate number.
Victim, who was to report for duty at Butuan City Jail, sustained several gunshot wounds at the different parts of his body killing him on the spot, the reports said.
The reports added that responding policemen recovered from the scene 11 empty cartridges of caliber .9mm pistol.
Elements of Butuan City Police Station are still conducting follow-up investigation to track down the suspect while motive is still undetermine.
