UNKNOWN men burglarized early Wednesday a public school in a sub-urban village of Surigao City and carted away undetermined amount of cash intended for salaries of teachers, police reports said Friday.
Reports reaching Camp Crame on Friday said burglarized by still unidentified men was the finance section of Surigao del Norte National High School in Surigao City.
The reports said that the burglary was discovered at around 6:30am Wednesday by Teodosia Ugay, 53, a widow and Administrative Aide 4 of the said public school, when she reported for work.
The reports said Ugay noticed that the cash drawer and the safety vault of their office were already opened prompting her to call the police.
Investigation revealed that the burglars gained entry to the school building by destroying the lock of its main door and headed towards the finance section and forcibly opened the cash drawer and safety vault, the reports said.
The reports said that the unknown burglars started ransacking the place and carted away still undetermined amount of cash representing the unclaimed salaries of school teachers.
Police are investigating the said incident.
