A seventy-year old farmer who is facing rape charges was shot to death by three still unidentified gunmen early Tuesday morning in a remote village in Agusan del Sur, police reports said on Thursday.
Reports at the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame identified the victim as Gardose Castromayor alias ‘Roming’, 70, farmer and resident of Brgy. New Visayas, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
Investigation revealed that the victim was at his rice-field in the same village when three still unidentified gunmen appeared from nowhere and shot him several times hitting him in different parts of his body.
The reports said that the victim died on the spot while the three gunmen quickly fled towards still unknown direction.
Investigation also revealed that the victim has a pending case before the Prosecutor’s Office fro rape charges victimizing a minor, the reports said.
The reports said elements of the San Francisco Municipal police station are investigating the said incident for identification and arrest of the suspects, while looking at revenge as possible motive for the killing.
