THE two Filipino crew members of kidnapped Jordanian journalist, Baker Atyani, were safely recovered by government security forces Saturday night at a hotel in Sulu, police reports said Sunday.
PNP spokesman, Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr., confirmed that Ramil Vera and Buboy Letriro have been recovered by troops at a hotel in downtown Jolo.
The PNP spokesman said the recovery of the two came after Vela called authorities in Sulu that he and Letriro have been released by their captors and checked in at ANR Hotel in Jolo, Sulu.
Cerbo said that after receiving the info, elements of Sulu Provincial Police Office were mobilized and recovered the two at the said hotel at around 10pm Saturday.
The two were immediately brought at the Integrated Provincial Hospital Office for medical check-up.
The two kidnapped victims are now secured under the protective custody of Sulu PPO prior to their evacuation in Zamboanga City then to Manila, Cerbo said.
The two along with Jordanian Journalist, Baker Atyani, were taken into custody by Abu Sayyaf (ASG) members while doing documentary in Sulu last June 12, 2012.
