POLICE have preempted a possible bank robbery incident Friday morning following the early arrest of four armed men loitering in the vicinity of a commercial bank in down Manila area, police reports said Sunday.
Reports at the National Capital Regional Police Office (Ncrpo) identified the four armed men arrested by the police as Rolando Osabel, 35; Juanito Osabel, 42 both from Bulaca; Rene Guzman, 33 from Manila and Eddie Batas, 33 from Samar .
The four suspects were arrested at around 10:47am by elements of the Manila Police District (MPD) within the vicinity of BDO Bank Branch along Sto. Cristo corner Jaboneros Sts., in Binondo, Manila , reports said.
The reports said that prior to the suspect’s arrest personnel of the Meisic Police Station received a call for assistance from BDO security personnel regarding the presence of suspicious persons within their vicinity.
A group of policemen from the said station were quickly dispatched to the said bank and resulted to the arrest of the four suspects, the reports said.
The reports added that seized from the four were one caliber 45 pistols with 28 live ammos; a 38 caliber revolver with three live ammos; a 22 magnum revolver with five ammos; assorted ID’s and five sachets of ‘shabu’.
Also seized from them were one backpack containing assorted men’s clothes and four cellphones with one phone containing a message “Pare sinusundan ko na yung driver ng Van,” , the report said.
The reports said the four suspects will be charged for illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions and possession of illegal drugs while police are still investigating the real motive and group affiliation.
